The Diary of Dorothy Priest, August 18th 1914

Kitchener has kindly permitted the Press to publish the news that our Army landed in France about Saturday.  The whole thing was magnificently arranged. 

Trains with troops arrived to the minute and there was not a single casualty.  The German merchant ships are bottle up and ours are going about as usual.  But where is our Navy?
