The Diary of Dorothy Priest, August 29th 1914

We’ve started to sing ‘Kaiser Bill’s whiskers’.  Some of our ships went through the mines into Heligoland Bight and finished off some of their ships without having a single one of ours blown up.  The Russians are advancing.
