The Last Post Resource Pack now available

Superact has just launched a free WWI music and history Resource Pack suitable for nurseries, schools, colleges and community groups.

The pack includes a wonderful introduction from Michael Morpurgo, activity and lesson ideas for KS1, KS2 and KS3 and songs from the era. http://www.superact.org.uk/thelastpost/event-resources

This pack is part of Superact’s The Last Post project which is a First World War centenary project bringing communities across the UK together to play the Last Post on a variety of different instruments at commemorative musical events.

You can register now to access:

• Funding towards expenses for commemorative events

• A hard copy of the resource pack containing archive materials and activities

• Music, lyrics and backing tracks for British and Worldwide songs from 1915

• Support from Superact’s network of Regional Managers

Running in its first year in November 2014, over 250 communities hosted events that saw the Last Post played on guitars, pianos, harmonicas and more.

The project returns in April 2015 to commemorative the Anniversary of Gallipoli with events and activities taking place from the 20th – 26th April 2015.

We are also very proud to again be working with Paul Sartin of Bellowhead along with Turkish singer Cigdem Aslan to share Turkey’s Gallipoli song and other popular music from the era, connecting communities to the experiences and emotions of 1915.
