A conference organized by the Women’s History Network, Midlands Region and the Voices of War and Peace WWI Engagement Centre

The Dig for Victory campaigns of the Second World War have a firm place within popular consciousness – yet similar activities in WWI when food also became a weapon of war have received little attention. This conference aims to explore how housewives, children and the home played a part in producing, preserving and preparing food during WW1. We aim to bring academics, teachers, students and those workring or and volunteering in community group and the heritage industries share their ideas, interests and research.  The programme of talks and papers will be complemented by displays and exhibitions from community history groups.

• Dr Stella Hockenhull – University of Wolverhampton

We invite you to either submit a proposal for a paper or an exhibition based on your current research in this field of Women’s History. Either provide an abstract of 300 words for a paper or a the title and space requirements for an exhibition via email to Prof Maggie Andrews maggie.andrews@worc.ac.uk by 30 January 2016.
