KILLED BY A BURSTING SHELL
A munition worker named Michael Murphy died in the General Hospital, Birmingham, last night from injuries to his face and abdomen caused by the bursting of a shell.
In aid of the Police-Aided Association for Clothing Destitute Children, the Birmingham City Police is arranging matinee and evening concerts, to be held at the Hippodrome, Hurst Street, on the 12th inst. The artistes who have consented to appear include Miss Carrie Tubb, Miss Dorothy Webster, Mr. Frank Mullings, and Mr. Robert Radford. Selections will be given by the Police Band.
