HOLIDAYS FOR BIRMINGHAM WAR CHILDREN
Arrangements are being made to provide a fortnight’s holiday in the country for all Birmingham children of suitable age who have lost their fathers in the war. The funds were subscribed in response to the “Birmingham Daily Mail” appeal last Christmas, and the Children’s Country Holiday Society is now securing the homes and making other arrangements. Last year about 300 children enjoyed the benefits of the scheme, but it is anticipated this year the total will not fall far short of a thousand.
