MILITARY MEDAL FOR BIRMINGHAM CONSTABLE
Corporal A. Vince (25), of the Royal Welsh Fusiliers, has been awarded the Military Medal for valiant conduct on the battlefield. In civilian life he was a member of the Birmingham Constabulary, attached to the C Division, under Superintended Monk, and he resided at Kenyon Street Police Station. Vince was one of a large number of bachelor constables who volunteered for military service, and marched in a body from Newton Street Police Station to Curzon Hall. Vince is now in a military hospital in this country, suffering from wounds caused by shell fire.
