GIFTS TO THE BIRMINGHAM ART GALLERY
A meeting of the Museum and Art Gallery Committee of the Birmingham City Council was held yesterday afternoon, Alderman Gaunt presiding. The following gifts were reported:- Small watercolour drawing, by W. Dyce, R.A., entitled “The Entombment,” presented by Mr. Murray Marks, of London; set of three electrotypes of gold medals of Alexandra the Great (the originals of which were found in the foundations of a temple at Tarsus), presented by Miss Wallis, of London; and an interested example of an air-gun in the form of a walking-stick, presented by Mr. H. H. Day, of Kendal. The thanks of the committee were accorded to the donors.
