THE BIRMINGHAM TOWN CLERKSHIP.
It has been decided to offer the post of Town Clerk of Birmingham to Mr. J. Beaumont Jones, at a salary of £900 per annum. Mr Jones entered the Corporation service forty-two years ago, and has been city clerk for a great many years.
He is not a solicitor, but Mr. Joseph James, clerk of the peace, will have sole charge of the legal work at a fee of £1,000 per annum. Both appointments are temporary, and will be revised after the war.
