FIRE AT A FLYING GROUND.
A fire broke out shortly after midnight at a local flying ground, engaging the attention of several contingents of the Birmingham Fire Brigade. On arrival the firemen found a wooden building used as a dining hall, cookhouse, and mess room on fire. There was not a very good supply of water, but there was a pool in an adjoining field, where the brook had been dammed, and from this the men got to work and after playing on the flames for about hour the fire was sufficiently extinguished to leave two men in charge. The motor machine on the ground was found to be out order.
