GOOD RESPONSE TO THE CALL IN BIRMINGHAM
Over 2,000 citizens have enrolled as special constables in Birmingham as a result of Mr. J. E. Hill’s recent appeal for recruits. Yesterday there was a steady flow of applicants, and were informed that a good number of the specials will commence their duties next week. A start will be made on Monday next upon the task of swearing in, and recruits will then be provided with the necessary equipment. Batches of about fifty will be asked to attend the Victoria Courts on Monday next from 10am onwards for this purpose.
