Event: Birmingham Children of War
On 20, Feb 2017 | In Events | By Nicola Gauld
Saturday 11th March 1.30 – 4.30pm
Library of Birmingham
Ever wondered what it might have been like as a child living through the First World War? This Friends of Birmingham Archives & Heritage (FoBAH) project, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, has been exploring the lives of children and young people in Birmingham during the 1914-18 War. Project volunteers will be sharing their findings on themes such as education, health, nursery provision, youth justice, scouts & other uniformed organisations, and Belgian refugees.
Suitable for the whole family there will be archive material on display and mini-talks in the Wolfson Centre; a children’s trail starting from the Children’s Library (children must be accompanied), live music and craft activities on Level Four. Pick up your programme on the day.
