MILITARY CROSS FOR BIRMINGHAM OFFICER
Sec.-Lieut. Basil Charles Barwell Jagger, Royal West Kent Regiment, who has been awarded the Military Cross, is the only son of Mr. C. Upfill Jagger, solicitor, Waterloo Street, Birmingham. The official record of the award states: “During a raid on the enemy’s trenches he led the left raiding party with great dash, and inflicted many casualties on the enemy. He has at all times set a splendid example.” Jagger was educated at Bromsgrove School, where was a member of the Officers’ Training Corps, and on leaving there was granted commission in the Royal West Kents. He is now at the convalescent camp at Sutton Coldfield, suffering from heart trouble.
