ENLISTED AT SIXTY-EIGHT
Mr. G. W. East, of Camden street, Birmingham, for some years a member of the Board of Guardians and a director of West Bromwich Albion Football Club, has received a war service badge and army leaving certificate. Although 68 years of age, he joined in August 1914, the King’s Royal Rifles as a rifleman, for orderly duties, but a short time afterwards was discharged as not “likely to become an efficient soldier”.
