MILITARY MEDAL FOR BIRMINGHAM SOLDIER
Official information has been received by Mrs. Parker, George Street, Balsall Heath, that the Military Medal has been awarded to her son, the late Lance-corporal E. V. Parker, of The Royal Warwickshire Regiment. Lance-corporal Parker, who had been a member of the commercial staff of the “Birmingham Daily Mail” for many years, joined a unit of the Royal Warwicks in September, 1914, and going abroad with his battalion saw considerable service. He was killed in action in July last. He was well known in local sporting circles, playing cricket and football for St. John’s (R.C.) teams, and was also an active church worker. He was 27 years of age.
