GIRL WAR WORKERS.
LISTS OF LODGINGS POSTED AT RAILWAY STATIONS.
The large importation of girls into Birmingham to do war work, according to the annual report of the local branch of the Union of Women Workers, based on evidence, caused a certain amount overcrowding. At yesterday’s meeting it was stated that the overcrowding was often found to be the fault of the women themselves. The Health Department had been entrusted with the responsibility of recommending rooms. To facilitate the obtaining of suitable lodgings, lists are now conspicuously displayed at New-street and Snow-hill Stations, and in some of the girls’ clubs.
