A SOLDIER’S OFFENCE
In the Second Court of Birmingham Police Court to-day, before Messrs. T. W. Trought and D. Shanks, Thomas Cook (23), 130, Great Francis Street, a private in the Machine Gun Company, was charged with drunkenness and wilful damage. It was stated that the defendant was drunk in Scholefield Street shortly after nine o’clock last night, and put his foot though a pane of glass in the shop window of Charles Kelsall, greengrocer, Scholefield Street. The magistrates, in fining prisoner 10s. for the drunkenness and 3s. and 10s. 6d. damages for breaking the pane of glass, said he ought to think a little more of his uniform.
