WOMEN GASWORKERS

Owing to so many of the employees at the Birmingham Gasworks having joined the forces, and to the difficulties of filling up the vacancies through the shortage of labour, it has been necessary to employ women in various capacities in order to continue certain essential operations.

Special clothing has been provided for the women workers, and the Gas Committee report that the work has been satisfactorily carried out by the women.
