RAID ON MOTORISTS AT ERDINGTON
On May 26 the city police (special and ordinary) were instructed to stop all motor-cars and other motor vehicles passing along the highways in Erdington, with the result that a large number of persons has been summoned for failing to produce licenses on demand, and others for not having taken out licenses. In all some 50 cases have been heard at Aston Police Court, and today there was another batch before the magistrates, when fines of 20s. were imposed on the persons who had no licenses, and 10s. in the cases of those who failed to have them in their possession.
