SERGEANT’S PROMOTION
Sergeant Fredrick George Amphlett, R.W.R., son of Police Inspector F. Amphlett, of Hay Mill, has been granted a commission, and expects to be shortly gazetted to an infantry regiment. Second-Lieut. Amphlett, who is 22 years of age, joined he colours at the beginning of September, 1914. He spent nearly two years in France, and after gaining his third chevron, was recommended for good work a commission. Second-Lieutenant Amphlett was formerly engaged in the Birmingham Gas Department.
