ABSENT W.A.A.C’S.
At the Birmingham Police Court, before the Stipendiary (Lord Ilkeston), to-day, Dorothy Ryan and Kathleen M. Murrell, members of the W.A.A.C., stationed Handsworth College, were charged with being absentees. They absented themselves from the College from January 20 to February 6. They went to London, and were arrested as they were going into public-house. They were taken to Bow Street and remanded, and were subsequently sent Birmingham. The girls said this morning they were very sorry, and would go back. They were fined 20s. each, and were sent back to Handsworth College.
