OBJECTOR’S CHANGED VIEWS.
At the Birmingham Local Tribunal today the National Service representative mentioned the case of a conscientious objector who had been granted exemption from combatant service and exemption from non-combatant service so long as he engaged in work for the Victims’ Relief Committee. The case was up for review, and the man was described as an adult school secretary, aged 35, and married.
He appeared and explained that he had been in Holland engaged on relief work, and as a result of what he had seen his views had changed, and he had enlisted. The Chairman of the Tribunal offered the man his congratulations.
