OBJECTOR SENTENCED.
A. Barrett Brown, a lecturer at Woodbrooke Settlement, and a prominent member of the Society of Friends, was tried by court-martial at Budbrooke Barracks, Warwick, on Saturday last for refusing on conscientious grounds to obey a lawful military order, and was sentence on Tuesday to 112 days’ hard labour, with 21 days remitted, having been in custody for that period at the barracks. He was taken under escort to Wormwood Scrubs Prison on Wednesday.
