PIG-KEEPING IN BIRMINGHAM
At a meeting of the Markets and Fairs Committee of the Birmingham City Council, held yesterday, under the presidency of Alderman Hayes, the question of keeping pigs by citizens in suitable districts was discussed. The committee were quite in sympathy with the idea that everybody who desired should keep a pig providing the conditions were favourable; but as some misunderstanding appears to exist in the minds of certain people in regard to the restrictions imposed on the keeping of swine in populous places it was thought desirable that the matter should be fully considered by a sub-committee. A sub-committee was therefore appointed for the purposes.
