CONCEALING A DESERTER
BIRMINGHAM WOMAN SENT TO PRISON.
Amelia Jackson. 7, back 43 Saltley Road, was sentenced to a month’s imprisonment in the Third Court of Birmingham Police, to-day, for concealing a deserter. When Detective Whitty went to the house on August 2 the woman said she had not seen her husband, Private William Jackson, for three months. The officer searched the premises, however, and found him in a bedroom. He was arrested and committed to await escort.
