WIN-THE-WAR-DAY
FORTHCOMING CELEBRATION IN BIRMINGHAM
A procession, illustrative of the part Birmingham is playing in the manufacture and production of munitions, will perambulate the principal streets of the city on September 21 next—Birmingham’s Win-the-War Day. The large manufacturing firms in the district have promised exhibits which will be shown en route. All forms of national work will be well represented.
The procession will muster at Five Ways and proceed to Cannon Hill Park, via Broad Street, Paradise Street, Victoria Square, Colmore Row, Temple Row, the Minories, Old Square, Corporation Street, New Street, Lower Temple Street, John Bright Street, the Horse Fair, Bristol Road, Belgrave Road, and Pershore Road. The long line will come to rest in the Queen’s Drive.
There is a likelihood that General Smuts will be present to receive a representative specimen of Birmingham’s war work from the city.
