STABBING CASE.
BOY OF 13 ATTACKS ANOTHER WITH POCKET KNIFE.
At Birmingham to-day a boy 13 was charged with stabbing a boy of 10. It was stated that the defendant opened a pocket knife and stuck it into the boot of a boy who was seated on a door-step. A bigger boy ran after him but could not catch him.
Later, however, the defendant brought out the knife again, and with the remark, “Now for anybody,” stabbed the complainant in the shoulder.
A clergyman said that the defendant suffered from the consequences of a fall when a little boy and was teased by other lads.
The case was adjourned for four weeks for the clergyman, a probation officer, and Mr. J. Stevenson (Birmingham Education Department) to consider what is best to be done in the boy’s interests.
