BIRMINGHAM WOMAN’S SUICIDE.
The Birmingham Coroner (Mr. Isaac Bradley), sitting without a jury, returned a verdict of “Suicide whilst temporarily insane” at an enquiry into the death of Ellen Banks, 18, Barford Road, wife of Henry Banks brassfounder’s warehouseman.
Mrs. Banks was found dead in the house on Wednesday afternoon, her head over a gas stove, four taps of which bed been turned on. She had been in ill-health for some time past, and her sister stated that she had been troubled through having lost her purse on Saturday.
