WOMEN THRESHERS IN WARWICKSHIRE
At a meeting of the Women’s War Agricultural Committee, at the Birmingham Council House, yesterday, the Lady Mayoress presiding, it was announced that Miss Margesson, who has been county secretary, had resigned in order to take a post in London, and that Miss Surr had been elected in her place. The principal work of the committee on hand is providing gangs of women for threshing in Warwickshire. From three to six women under a forewoman comprise a gang, and already several gangs are at work. Altogether the committee are expected to supply 350 women for this work.
