BIRMINGHAM TRIBUTES.
“Trafalgar Day” was observed in Birmingham yesterday by the placing of floral tributes on the Nelson monument in the Bull Ring. These tributes were rather more numerous than usual, and included a large anchor in laurel leaves, white chrysanthemums, and red berries, bearing the inscription, “To the immortal memory of Nelson and of sailors who have perished in the war,” from Professor Bostock Hill (chairman of the Birmingham Branch of the Navy League}. The branch itself contributed a wreath, composed of laurel leaves, white chrysanthemums, and red and violet berries. Wreaths were also sent by Lord Leigh, Dr. and Mrs. Hallwright, Alderman E. Ansell. Colonel D. F. Lewis, C.B., and Mrs. Lewis, Mrs. Bostock Hill, Mr. and Mrs. W. Waters Butler, Mr. and Mrs. Henry A, Butler, and Mrs. H. Perowne Pope.
