BIRMINGHAM’S WORK FOR PRISONERS OF WAR

The figures relating to the work of the Lady Mayoress’s Depot, Birmingham, which have now been completed, show how extensive the operations have been. Mr. Antony Lees states that the total number of parcels despatched to prisoners of war was 130,152, the greatest number in one week being 1,439. The total cost during the whole period of the activities of the depot was £65,292.

The total number of prisoners of war who have returned to their homes in Birmingham and have registered their names at the Council House is 435. Doubtless there are many others who have not registered, and these are requested to do so as soon as possible.
