The Diary of Dorothy Priest, October 26th 1914

The German struggle for Calais is a battle in which the forces of sea, land, and air are taking part. 

On the 21^st there was a naval battle for twelve hours.  It is rumoured that on that day the Emden was sunk; as the rumour comes from India it would probably have taken place near there.
