YOUTHFUL SOLDIER KILLED
Private Thomas Ernest Ison, of the 2nd Royal Warwickshire Regiment, who enlisted at Christmas, 1914, at the age of 17, has been killed at the front. He was wounded in the knee by an explosive bullet, which blew away portions of both upper and lower parts of the left leg. While he was being attended to by one of his comrades, Private Palmer, as the Germans were in the meantime sending over clouds of poison gas, Private Ison received further wounds from enemy rifle fire, one bullet going in at his forehead and blowing the back of his head clean away.
