RECRUITING IN BIRMINGHAM
New recruits are being enlisted in Birmingham, though since the passing of the Military Service Act enquiries from single men who have not attested under the group system have been much more numerous.
Next week the men belonging to the second group series (groups 6, 7, 8 and 9) will be called up for service. Practically the whole of the recruits in the first four groups have now responded to the call, though the military authorities deemed it necessary to communicate with a fairly large number of men who had not rejoined the colours.
