WOMEN’S PROTEST.
The Committee of the Birmingham Branch of the Women’s International League have passed a resolution strongly protesting against the clause in the Criminal Law Amendment Act Bill, which makes it possible for suspected women to be detained and exposed to a compulsory medical examination. While opposed to any compulsion they regard the distinction between men and women, who are equally responsible, to be particularly unjust.
