CHARGE OF THREATENING A THEATRE MANAGER

In the Second Birmingham Police Court, today, Thomas William Attenborough (18), 9, Victoria Terrace, Westley Street, was charged on remand with threatening to shoot John Fredrick Watson, manager of the Bordesley Theatre, with a pistol.

When prisoner was previously before the court he was remanded in order that the state of his mind might be enquired into by the medical officer of the prison. The doctor had since reported that he had not seen any indication of insanity on the part of the prisoner.

The charge was reduced to one of threats. In reply to Mr. A. Hall Wright, Mr. Watson said he did not look upon it as a serious attempt upon his life. He knew the revolver was not loaded. He regarded his threat as boyish talk.

The case was adjourned for twelve weeks, and the prisoner, promising not to do anything of the kind again, was liberated.
