BOGUS STORY OF RAILWAY ROBBERY
At Crewe today, Annie Hughes, a young woman, of Birmingham, was charged with travelling on the railway without a ticket. On arrival at Crewe the girl complained to the stationmaster that she had been robbed of her ticket, money, and luggage at New Street Station, Birmingham. Enquiries showed the story to be a myth. She said she was a Canadian and wanted to get to Glasgow. She was fined £1.
