WAR SAVINGS
CAMPAIGN TO BE LAUNCHED IN BIRMINGHAM
A National War Savings Campaign is to be launched in Birmingham and district, by which strong appeals will be made for more subscribers and bigger subscriptions to the national financial war chest.
It has been alleged against the citizens that, however well they did last spring in the matter of war savings certificates, there was a decided reaction after the spring campaign ended, and that there is considerable leeway to make up.
It is also said than other cities are doing better than Birmingham.
People are not asked to stint themselves of the things they need, but they are asked to think before they spend and to save every penny that they might lend to the nation.
