CHARGE AGAINST MEMBER OF THE W.A.A.C.
Thelma Canning (18), was placed on probation for two years by the Stipendiary (Lord Ilkeston) at the Birmingham Police Court today for stealing 25s. belonging to Norah Robinson, 20, Grosvenor Road, Market Drayton. Both women are members of the Women’s Army Auxiliary Corps, and on October 29 accused showed prosecutrix to her bedroom and saw her lock the money up in her dressing case. An hour or so later the case was found unlocked and the money gone.
Detective A. White said the girl was a native of Cardiff, and her father was killed in the present war.
