AFTER WAR HOUSING
GOVERNMENT SCHEME TO ASSIST LOCAL AUTHORITIES
The Local Government Board, indicating the terms upon which financial assistance will be given for the carrying out of housing schemes after the war, state that the full cost should be met by the local authority by loan for a period of not less than seven years.
State assistance will be given by a grant sufficient to relieve the authority of 75 per cent. of the estimated annual deficit, and at the end of the loan period 75 per cent. of the excess of the loan outstanding over the then value of the property will be met by the State.
