U.S. VISITORS TO BIRMINGHAM
The party of representative American citizens, including several prominent Labour leaders, who wish to see for themselves how the British people live and work in wartime, are expected to arrive in Birmingham this evening.
In addition to the Labour delegates, who are recognised by Mr. Gompers (president of the American General federation of Labour) as the official representatives of American Labour as a whole, the party consists of bankers, railway directors, journalists, sociologists and New York society women.
During their stay in Birmingham facilities will be given to each to follow out their mission, and to study the methods the city has adopted towards performing her share of work of winning the war.
