MILITARY SERVICE.
MEDICAL GRADING OF THE OLDER MEN.
CONCESSIONS TO BE ANNOUNCED ON MONDAY.
At the conference yesterday between Sir Auckland Geddes and Sir Donald Maclean and six other chairmen of the Tribunals for the Army substantial agreement was reached as to the better medical treatment of the men from 41 to 50 called to the Army (says the Lobby correspondent of the “Daily News.”)
The conference will be resumed on Monday in order to agree on a definite statement of the conclusions reached which shall be made public.
It is understood that the Ministry of National Service will in future see to it that the men of 41 to 50 shall, roughly speaking, have the same medical treatment as was accorded to the younger men in their examinations. Of the older men only a small proportion are likely in future to be graded I.
It is expected that Sir Auckland Geddes will make a statement in the House of Commons on Monday regarding the concessions agreed upon.
