BIRMINGHAM ALLOTMENTS COMPETITIONS
FIRST LIST OF SUBSCRIPTIONS
MORE MONEY WANTED.
It has already been publicly announced that the competition for the production food on allotments in the city of Birmingham will be held again this year on a much extended scale. Last year the “Birmingham Post,” promoted competitions for the best-cultivated allotments, and the Parks Committee of the City Council held a separate show at the Town Hall for allotment produce. Both competitions were an undoubted success, and stimulated allotment holders to produce the most and best food in their capacity. This year the two competitions are amalgamated, and are being managed by one committee, and depend upon one fund for prizes and expenses of organisation. he sum of £600 is required to carry out the full scheme.
